Distinguished public health physicians, esteemed colleagues, and partners in public health, it is with great honour and excitement that I extend a heartfelt invitation to our upcoming 43rd Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference, scheduled from the 15th to the 18th of March 2027 in the vibrant city of Abuja.

This conference represents a unique opportunity for us to come together as a community of passionate professionals, dedicated to advancing public health in Nigeria and beyond. Abuja, at the heart of our nation, will provide a dynamic backdrop for insightful discussions, collaborative learning, and strategic partnerships.

The theme for the 2027 conference is “Renewing Nigeria’s Public Health Architecture: Hope, Equity, Resilience, and Digital Innovation”. We are preparing a programme that addresses the most pressing challenges in public health today and positions today’s public health physician to function flawlessly in a digital world. The sub-themes have been carefully selected to enrich our deliberations and address critical issues such as the engagement of the non-health sector in advancing public health objectives, leveraging telemedicine and artificial intelligence to bridge gaps in geriatric care; task-shifting and task-sharing in primary health care to combat health worker brain drain, the impact of climate change in health and social care, and commercial determinants of health and non-communicable diseases epidemic.

From innovative research to best practices, the conference will feature renowned speakers, interactive workshops, and thought-provoking plenary sessions. It will be a platform for sharing experiences, learning from each other, and collectively charting the way forward for our profession and association.
